EVST 4410: Seminar in Environmental Studies
Recent Student Collaborations
Fall 2019: St. James
While community activists often have an in-depth understanding of the injustices facing their communities, many laypeople do not. For this reason, students created an easily distributable pamphlet describing the complex and intersectional issues facing St. James Parish.
Fall 2019: St. John
Created for children 5-10 years old, this video details the relationship between the natural environment and the human-built industrial complex. Schools in fenceline communities are often heavily funded by industry, so this video offers an outside perspective on pollution that is kid-friendly.
Spring 2020: Alsen
This group utilized eye-catching visuals to share the ways in which toxicity lurks within Alsen, LA. These postcards can be distributed to garner the attention of residents regarding issues facing the community.
